CWC showcased at Bristol Museum’s Fabric Africa event 2018.

I was proud to showcase a few of my designs at the Fabric Africa fashion show in October 2018, in celebration of Black History month. The fabric Africa event coincided with Bristol Museums Fabric Africa exhibition which showcased and celebrated the history of African fabrics.

Guests were treated to a history of African print clothing on the day along side a fabulous fashion show. The fashion show showcased designs from local designers which included: Grace Ekall, Kitenge, SLG Designs and Panashe.

With having to showcase my designs only 7 weeks after giving birth to my first child. Designing and stitching at the sewing machine was a very tough assignment. However, in honour of black history month and as a very sleep deprived new mother, I packed my 4 designs and headed on to my sons first train trip to the Bristol museum from Severn Beach.

CWC showcased 4 key pieces with a focus on autumn winter and mixed in some colourful African prints.

Model Mariam in a black poncho with faux fur trim, paired with a white dress for a glam winters evening.

Model Latoya in a bespoke print pencil skirt and matching wrap blouse. Perfect to wear for a first date or cocktail look.

Model Jozie in a cream poncho with white faux fur trim. I decided to pair this poncho with a casual black dress and boots, to stay warm while looking hot during the autumn and winter.

Model Sisanda in an African print wrap skirt two piece. This has got to be my favourite African fabric print perfect for beach days and summer evenings.

Although I was attending to my baby most of the evening, it was an absolute joy to be involved in the Fabric Africa fashion show. I just want to say a big thank you to Christelle Pellecuer and the whole team for putting on a great event to be remembered.

Thank you for reading, keep in touch and have a look at our new collection.

Love, Corrine xo
